Dr.Sharafudheen, with Fourth Year
Pharm.D students in operation theatre
We were extremely privileged to have been posted at the
ENT department and head and neck surgery
of our hospital. It was with utmost pleasure that we submitted an assignment
given to us by Dr.Sharafudheen P.K. The assignment spanned on the topic ‘Recent guidelines on management of
secretory otitis media’. Upon submission of the assignment he asked us to
do a PowerPoint presentation on the same. The presentation was carried in ENT
department before Dr.Sharafudheen, Dr.Anuradha and Dr. Deepthi. It was a unique experience to present before
the physicians. They were extremely glad about the recent therapies especially
regarding the use of Pnemococcal conjugate vaccine for preventing the
recurrence of SOM in children. They were
impressed on our sincere work and sir permitted us to attend the surgical
procedures in the operation theatre. In OT, Madam explained to us
Masteoidectomy and sir oriented us about the anatomical features of the middle
ear. Also he asked us some questions and revealed the importance of the surgery
(Tympanostomy) in the patient. They encouraged us and explained about the roles
a pharmacist can play in health care system. Later sir joined with us for such
a beautiful photograph that we can never forget in our life. We were so
grateful to Sharafudheen sir, Anuradha madam, Deepthi madam for such a
wonderful experience in ENT department, Thank you.
