Thanalkootu-Resurrection to a better tomorrow

Thanalkootu-Resurrection to a better tomorrow

As the college motto was ‘lighted to enlighten’, here we have another step striding towards the excellence. On 7th November 2012 E-positive motivation classes were held in collaboration with ‘Thanalkkoottu’ in Al Shifa college of Pharmacy. Thanalkkoottu – a social welfare programme moulds youngsters making them aware of their aware of their social commitment and responsibilities they have towards the society. It nurtures the right attitudes and instils the values of service to humanity that is something goes beyond the classroom teaching, textbooks and university exams.
As representatives of Thanalkkoottu Malappuram district, Mr X and Y took it as a privilege to accept our invitation and conduct to such programme in our college .Pharm.D first years and second years had the opportunity to attend the discussion. E positive invites our attention towards marginalised and sidelined people living in our society. It’s a venture that brings together people from various walks of life so that they share and care the needs and feelings of their fellow beings.
Education is not just pack of knowledge but it is a realisation of right from wrong and it is only when one gains this ability of understanding beyond his perceptions that he becomes humane. Motto of pharmacy healthcare professional, must be ‘love the patient than the medicine ’he insisted. The underling goal must be providing maximum care at minimum cost. We happened to hear that it’s not just medicines that cure the ailments but it is the care and motherly approach. He happened to emphasize that “you are person who is giving life to the medicine, so give respect to the profession and raise your voice and abilities against the malpractices in the health care system.
We realize that service not just helps us to better understand the society but also equips us on how to get involved deeper into the rhythm of society .he also reminded us that when we start sharing we learn to empathize instead of sympathize .lastly he didn’t forget to invite our heart full support to serve as strong volunteers and moreover as upcoming pharmacists, for the various social welfare activities. We were very much delighted and enlightened on getting such a wonderful opportunity to attend the discussion. We thank all the respective authorities for organising such an influential and motivating class. Indeed we accept “service to mankind is service to god”
